Gender Equality. (2015). United Nations Population Fund. UNFPA
The article conducts the analysis of the problem of gender inequality in global terms. The report reveals substantial differences between countries in terms of gender equality. Many developing countries suffer from substantial gender gaps and systematic violation of women’s rights. Instead, well-developed, democratic countries have improved the position of women and tend to close gender gaps, although gender inequality persists and such problems as glass ceiling or different career opportunities still exist in a way even in democratic countries.
LeMoyne, R. (2011). Promoting Gender Equality: An Equity-based Approach to Programming (PDF). Operational Guidance Overview in Brief. UNICEF
The author focuses on the study of possible ways to eliminate gender inequality and to promote gender equality instead. The author reveals the importance of gender equality but the use of the equity-based approach is not always effective because it is not always possible to create absolutely equal conditions for men and women, but the author argues that policy makers should create equal opportunities for men and women in the field of education, politics, and employment.
