Demon Bridge

The cinema of the 2010s is extremely developed and varied. There are both real and fantastic movies, each of which does all its best in order to impress viewers. At the same time, there are also films that try to combine seemingly opposing features, and, to tell the truth, some of them are said to have successfully coped with the given task. A very interesting fact is that there are a lot of short films nowadays that try to copy some characteristic features of the most successful pieces of art of the given time, with the YouTube video published by Merlet being one of many examples.

First of all, the film under consideration resembles The Hobbit by Peter Jackson because of an effective combination of the real world and that of fantasy. In Demon’s Bridge, we see that the main character is forced to fight against a witch who uses magic against him. If we compare this fact to The Hobbit, we will find a lot of similarities between the Witcher and Bilbo Baggins. In other words, a real man is to combat the fantasy world.

The second characteristic feature here is represented by a close attention paid to even slight details. As for Demon’s Bridge, we have seen suitable clothing, armor, and weapons, that create a mystic atmosphere that is necessary to better feel the film. Finally, the last episode with medallion contributes to understanding the filmmaker’s intentions.

Showing picturesque views is the final common thing between The Hobbit and Demon’s Bridge. Yes, there are no doubts that New Zealand’s landscapes are much more beautiful than those depicted by the film under consideration, but it is also clear that Demon’s Bridge’s filmmakers also did their homework to find a suitable place to convey the necessary atmosphere and scenery. So, it is possible to say that Demon’s Bridge has a few features of the 2010s’ film.
