A Plea Bargain Discussion

In today’s society, people often face with injustice and unequal rights, including criminal justice system. In plea bargaining, “a defendant is faced with a charge at arraignment” (Devers 2011). I do not feel that justice is served when a defendant is allowed to plea bargain his or her case in court. I consider people must take full responsibility for their own actions and behaviors, and plea-bargaining is not the best way to solve the case or prevent the potential wrongful behavior or violence. All specialists in criminal justice process including judges, juries, attorneys, and other professionals should follow moral principles and act according to the biblical concepts and God’s word. Scripture says, “Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” (Romans 12:17-19) The Bible also says that “For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality.” (Colossians 3:25) When it concerns effective leadership I consider effective leaders must live for eternity because that can make a powerful transformative effect on the whole humanity and cause a lot of positive changes on future generations. Great power and effective leadership stretegies means responsibility, ethics, and high moralities and unfortunately today many leaders fail to act in accordance to the law and ethical standards. Thus, effective leaders are very valuable element to society’s growth, development, and functioning. The statement “To lead well is to live well” means that effective leader should serve as an example for people starting from his own lifestyle, basic things and behaviors, family relationships, and values and ending with his high moral principles, religion, and faith in God. I consider the statement “to lead well is to live well” is an art that all people should teach during their life.
