Discussion of Kindness

It’s the little things people do and say, which mean so much as we go our way. A kind-hearted deed can elevate a load from way-worn shoulders on the road. Tender words like summer rain might calm some heart and dislodge pain. What grief or gladness often arises from just simple little things? It is twice blessed when it comes to these simple little things.

It is very important to remain a man and be able to help out in difficult times in this world of wars and political upheavals. It does not matter what country he/she is from, even the smallest kind act will bring more love and joy than all the riches of the world.

Italian schoolteacher Antonio La Cava bought a three-wheeled truck and converted it into a children’s library on wheels. Traveling around his country in his mobile library, he tries to instill a love of reading in Italian children. Antonio bought all the books (there are more than a thousand of them) with his own money, and his every visit to another small town turns into a whole event for local kids (Kelley par. 2).

Now let us pay attention to this real life example.

There was an ordinary girl, who returned from work by taxi on New Year’s Eve. On the streets of the big city, in the dark, she saw a silhouette that looked like a man. It was already quite cold outside, winter, frost. She asked the taxi driver to stop the car to find out the situation. She saw a man curled up like a kitten, frozen, intoxicated. She asked the taxi driver to help her pick up this person and put in the car. In a warm car, the man began to show signs of life, she struggled, but heard the address where he lived, and took him home to his wife and children, who were very much waiting for his return. Now the story of that man on the road. The New Year holidays were approaching, and like all the people waiting for this holiday, they organized a table at work to celebrate the holiday. This person was not addicted to alcohol, but as always, his colleagues would find a reason to force a person to drink an extra glass of wine, then for the New Year, then for health and success. The clock was ticking, and the audience, without noticing it, more and more fell into captivity of alcohol. The colleagues called a taxi in which he had to get home safely. But as always, everything has a chance. This time, the taxi driver, who was carrying the pretty drunk man home, decided to use the client’s condition and earn more than he owed for the journey. He robbed a sleeping man and left to die on the winter road. And he would freeze to death if the girl did not find and help him that night. Sometime later, a respectable man came to that girl, and handed her a catalog of new cars, giving her the choice of any car from the catalog. This man turned out to be the drunk, frozen man who was rolled up on the road. As a result, she knew that the man worked as the CEO of one of the banks.

From this case, we can conclude that kindness saves people’s lives. Kindness means to be as gentle as a dove.

However, kindness does not mean that people do not show anger, but it informs how we choose to express our anger. Kindness does not mean that a person is weak and cannot stand up for himself. Being kind does not mean that people can walk all over us.

In conclusion, kindness is help, kindness is concern, kindness is a way to show warmth and care to one’s neighbor. Kindness is like a boomerang – if a person throws it often, he or she gets it a hundred times more.
