Theories About the Kennedy Assassination Essay

The issue regarding the assassination of President Kennedy is a debatable one. Some experts believe that the official reports stating that Lee Harvey Oswald, a lone gunman, killed President Kennedy from the Schoolbook Depository were true. Others claim that there were multiple gunmen, who could kill President Kennedy because there were several shots. Some experts claim that a giant government conspiracy could lead to the murder of President Kennedy (Conklin 22).  I have seen Oliver Stone’s JFK that presented its version of Kennedy’s assassination, which involved the agents from FBI and CIA and the military as conspirators. Although the movie was fictional, there was much meaningful and comprehensive information regarding the crime. As I am familiar with various theories about the Kennedy assassination, I can give my version about the assassination of Kennedy.

I believe that President Kennedy was killed by his political enemies who hired Oswald who was a CIA agent. I believe that he had close relationship with the Agency and could act as a killer-agent in this crime. The US Central Intelligence Agency could have been involved in the plans developed by some political leaders to kill important foreign figures who were the US enemies, including Fidel Castro (White 212).  I support the idea that President Kennedy was killed because he was focused on turning away from the Cold War politics. He wanted to find the proper strategies to negotiated international peace with the Soviet Union and its allies. Thus, President Kennedy was killed because of his political views. He wanted to stop the Cold War in order to start cooperation with the Soviet Union in various fields, such as space exploration and scientific development. He wanted to prohibit nuclear testing. Kennedy “tried to lay the foundation for a realistic policy of peaceful coexistence with the Soviet Union” (Kennedy & Cohen 855).  In general, President Kennedy’s death is connected with political conflicts and misunderstandings regarding the Cold War effects.
