Marketing Strategies In Developing Business Research Paper

Doritos is one of the leading brands operating in the chips industry. The introduction of the new taste, Curry Chips, will need the development of a new distribution strategy for the new product. At this point, the company has several options. First, the company can use the traditional distribution channel and strategy, which the company used for other of its products. In such a way, the company will diversify its product line and offer a new product that may be interesting for its customers.

Second, the company should consider other ways of distribution, which are different from its traditional distributional channels and which could enhance the distribution strategy of Curry Chips. In this regard, the company should focus on restaurants, which use chips in their menus and which use curry as a part of their traditional cuisine (Viardot 195). For example, Indian cuisine uses curry as an important ingredient of many dishes. In this regard, the distribution of Curry Chips to restaurants of Indian cuisine can attract consumers and open the new segment of the market for Doritos. Similarly, the company can focus on other restaurants, where the consumption of curry is traditional and where chips may be used as a part of their traditional cuisine.

Third, the company can focus on specific customer groups, for example, representatives of Indian community and other communities where curry is popular and where the consumption of chips may be popular too (Riezebos 241). Such a narrow focus on small local retailers can help the company to expand its business with the help of its new Curry Chips. In such a way, the aforementioned distribution channels and strategies can help the company to boost its further business development.
