Mass Storage Devices: Magnetic Disk, The Optical Drive Verbatim Essay

Magnetic disk from Fuji Electric is a reliable storage device with the low costs of data storage. Magnetic disk is faster than hard drive and offers a large storage place. The price of the magnetic disks lower compared to optical drive and solid state drive. The optical drive from Verbatim is a reliable storage device sold at the affordable price. The advantage of the optical drive compared to the magnetic device is longer life and higher level of the data security because the data stored on magnetic disk may be vulnerable to the impact of the magnetic field and steadily they need to be re-written. However, the limitation of the optical drive is the limited amount of re-writings because read only optical drives may be written only once. The solid state drive from Seagate is a good alternative to both magnetic and optical drive. Even though the solid state drive is the most expensive, it is the most reliable and effective storage device among the three, because data may be written and re-written multiple times. The data are safe and may be stored longer than magnetic disk or optical drive.

The inkjet printer from Canon and the laser printer from HP have a bit different price since the laser printer from HP costs more than the inkjet printer from Canon. In addition, the laser printer will need higher maintenance costs compared to the inkjet printer. However, the laser printer has the advantage in terms of the speed and workload since the laser printer can print more pages compared to the inkjet. In such a way, the inkjet print is a little bit cheaper than the laser printer but less productive. Hence, if the capacity of the printer is not determinant, then the inkjet printer is the better choice since the different in the quality is not significant in case of non-professional use.
