What Made Native Americans Vulnerable to Conquest by European Adventurers?

There exist several aspects that made Native American peoples to be vulnerable to conquest by European adventures, and we are going to explore these aspects in the body of this paper.

Firstly, let us define that the Native American peoples were naive by their nature; their culture was different from the European’s culture, and such a concept as ownership was displaced by the concept of caretaking. Moreover, the main aspect can be also seen in the fact that the Native American peoples were badly developed in social, political, economical and military areas, so the absence of knowledge in these areas gave the European conquerors many advantages before the Native American peoples.[1]

Explaining the above mentioned information, it is possible to say that the lack of political stability and a presence of a number of different tribes allowed conquerors not to be decisively repulsed by the reason that Indian tribes were in constant conflicts and they did not want unite their efforts to resist to invaders. The next point is in the lack of cavalry. Of course, it was much harder to fight on foot than using cavalry, while the lack of modern weapon and iron also contributed to the impossibility of the Native American peoples to protect their territories. And finally, we need to pay a specific attention to weak immunity against severe European diseases such as tuberculosis. Tribes lived in rather isolated way and many new and unknown diseases sometimes were more powerful than any weapon or well-planned war strategies.

In summary, we have enumerated the main aspects that made Native American peoples to be vulnerable to conquest by European adventures, and explained some of them with more details.
