For most individuals the notion “sacrifice” is associated with refusing from something, what is important and needed to an individual. Each individual has his own interpretation of sacrifice, faces it from time to time in his life and takes his individual decision about making a sacrifice or not.
It is possible to sacrifice absolutely different things, these could be time, money, love, relations, etc. it is utterly important to include all the components of the situation, when making judgments about somebody’s sacrifice, as they could have impact upon interpreting of the concrete sacrifice. Each person appreciates different things in life and thus for somebody money is more meaningful, than time, and to another individual there is nothing more precious, than love.
A lot depends upon individual perception of sacrifice, of its meaning. Some people tend to perceive sacrifice negatively, as they focus on the fact they are to lose something. Other individuals are able to change their impression about sacrifice and link sacrificing to something lower with the aim to gain something higher. Sometimes sacrifice is compared to a game of chess, when a player gives up one of his figures in order to win the whole game.
All individuals are to make sacrifice in their lives. Often it is really difficult to make the correct choice, when to sacrifice and when not to do that. Usually this decision in made by an individual on the basis of his moral and ethical views and values and his perception of the notion of sacrifice in general.
Overall, making a sacrifice is an integral part of human lives; each person develops individual understanding of this concept and takes the decision about its need in his life. There are various kinds of sacrifice possible, depending upon concrete life conditions and position of an individual, as well as the final aims of any sacrifice might differ.
