Human Cloning ; Creation of Genetically Modified Pigs

One of the biggest problems of human cloning is that it creates a unique and complex social confrontation. If a person clones himself and raises a child as his own, then this creates a strange situation. Instead of being the father of a clone, he becomes a brother of a clone. As a result, such social awkwardness leads to psychological obstacles in the development of the clone. Thus, it is important to explore the pros and cons of cloning for the purpose to explore this issue better.

Observing the pros of cloning, it is important to mention that most often cloning is not about babies, it is about technologies that may save human life. To explain, a young woman in the video is waiting for new opportunities for her life due to the development of cloning technologies because she wants to feel herself free from homodialysis 4 times a day. In such a way, cloning of individual organs and tissues will make a revolutionary breakthrough in transplantology and traumatology. This will allow a person to prolong the own life, replacing the organs which ensure the life of a person. Cloning of organs may solve the problem of rejection by the body of transplanted organs. In this way, cloning may save a huge number of lives on our planet. Moreover, cloning gives the possibility of reproduction of human genes in animals. The video presents the idea of creation of genetically modified pigs for these purposes. In addition, scientists believe that cloning is important for saving people from a number of genetic diseases, while cloning may become a kind of assistance to families, which cannot have children for medical reasons. The other heroine of the video is dreaming about the child and believes in the potential of cloning (The SHSBiology, 2013).

Exploring the cons of cloning, it is always important to remember about the best interest of the child. On the one hand, the development of clones can become destructive, leading to the death of many clones, which may even be considered a kind of a murder. The technology has not yet developed to the point where it is possible to ensure the successful conception of clones. On the other hand, reproductive cloning is on the threshold of a very dangerous path, which can lead to various disruptions.

Presenting an opinion on the issue of human cloning, it can be said that if a person can be grown in the laboratory as a vegetable, it undermines the very purpose of human birth. The love, care and pain through which the mother passes to give birth to a child personifies a human. This is part of human identity as living organisms. The idea of man as an object that can be produced destroys the individuality. It seems that a child born by cloning is not unique, it is an image of a nuclear donor, and he does not have personality. Society will always perceive such a child as part of a commodity that can be produced repeatedly for many times.

In conclusion, despite the fact that there are both supporters and opponents of human cloning, it is believed that the idea of human cloning will do more harm than good, and therefore the study and development of this issue should be suspended, at least until the present moment.
