The UML Use Case Diagram

The development of the UML use case diagram may involve different approaches, among which the key points analysis is the most efficient one, while such approaches as needs analysis and stakeholder analysis are also effective but the key points analysis is the most efficient one.

The key points analysis involves the identification of the key actors and the key use cases involved in the diagram. In such a way, all the main points are weighed carefully and integrated adequately into the diagram.

Needs analysis involves the analysis of needs the diagram has to match. The identification of needs helps to elaborate adequate cases to meet needs of actors. In such a way, the diagram is developed on the ground of actual needs of actors (Gemino & Parker, 2009).

Stakeholder analysis is another approach used for the development of the UML use case diagram. This approaches focuses on the identification of the key stakeholders and elaboration of cases to meet interests and needs of those stakeholders (Gemino & Parker, 2009). In this regard, stakeholders play the main part in the development of the model.

Each approach has its drawbacks and strengths but the key points analysis is the most efficient because, while developing the UML use case diagram, this model focuses on the identification of the most important points, which the diagram has to match (Gemino & Parker, 2009). As a result, the diagram meets the key points that make the diagram functional and meeting needs of actors and the key stakeholders.

Thus, the UML use case diagram may be developed on the ground of different models, such as needs analysis and stakeholder analysis model, but the most efficient model is the key points analysis model that focuses on the identification of the key points and matching them in the diagram.
