The Brain Neuroplasticity Essay

Neuroplasticity is a relatively new discovery of the humanity which helps them prove that intelligence is not fixed. People’s brains change continuously from birth to death. The phenomenon of neuroplasticity explains various processes which take place in the human brain while it is involved in learning activities. Thus, a human brain grows continuously because of the new connections being installed between its neurons. “This means that when people repeatedly practice an activity or access a memory, their neural networks – groups of neurons that fire together, creating electrochemical pathways – shape themselves according to that activity or memory” (Bernard 2010). Thus, the more the person learns, the more their brain gets neuron connections, making it gain neuroplasticity.

Knowing the fact that each person gains neuroplasticity while being involved in any brain activity, I can confidently state that the traditional school teachers student to think. The variety of learning activities the children are involved in is vast. They learn reading, writing, composing, singing, drawing, listening, discussing, and many other forms of activities which require brain processes to develop.

Knowing the learned information about the brain neuroplasticity, I can evaluate each learner in the classroom according to his/her learning differences. Thus, I will use observation methods during my first lessons to see which categories of cognitive development are more effective while teaching each of my students. Since psychologists, neuroscientists and educators understand that each student is individual, they require a special approach to be applied to gain fast and effective results of the learning process. Some students are better in mathematical studies, and some are more into Humanities, and languages. Some students easily learn when drawing, some when listening, reading, writing down, discussing, and so on. Brain activity in each person is unique, and it requires time and patience to understand which method is more effective.
