The Impact of Poverty on the World

Unfortunately, the modern world is full of various challenges that can influence almost everyone. There can be environmental, economic, political and societal issues, with the latter being the acutest group of challenges because no one is insured from their influence. Thus, poverty is one of the most terrible societal issues because millions of people throughout the whole world are living in terrible conditions. That is why it is of key importance to reduce poverty rates by implementing corresponding international programs and sending humanitarian issues to corresponding areas.

To begin, poverty is not the same for different groups of population, and children suffer a lot from this societal issue. Poverty is very dangerous for children and their future. The fact here is that a low income of their families makes their health worsen because of inappropriate living conditions and nutrition, deprives them of the opportunity to obtain the decent education, and increases the chances for them to become criminals. Not only is this situation dangerous for the poor children, but world countries can also notice negative consequences if there are a lot of poor and uneducated citizens across the world. Thus, the world countries should take appropriate steps in order to protect their future.

After the analysis of the subject, it has been found that more than 15 million children under 18 years old lived below the federal poverty line in the United States in 2014 (McCarty, 2016). In other words, it is almost a quarter of all the children currently living in the USA. For me, it was extremely shocking that every fourth child in our country suffers from poverty. Even being a developed state, the United States has rather high poverty rates, to tell nothing about numerous developing countries.

To conclude, the information above has shown that poverty is a global issue, and it is necessary to take the certain international steps in order to combat it.
