The Meaning Of Home for Human

However different people may be, they continue to shape and be shaped by their home and native environment, which from the beginning significantly affects their values and appreciations, ideas and beliefs, goals and achievements. We all hear about a well-known American expression “home sweet home”, which means that home is one of the best places for human being, a trusted environment, where you can feel love, protection, and support from people around you.

Home is one of the main elements of human existence, an environment that gives people insights into their history, their origins, and their lives today. For me, the term “home” is something intertwined with strong feelings, a reliable shelter that reflects the childhood period, my first friendship, personal failures and success, goals and achievements, my inner self and my own identity. Home environment enables and motivates me to reach good results, support and build new relationships, and care about other people around me.

A poet Henry van Dyke explains all the richness and meaning of home in the following lines: “Every house where love abides and friendship is a guest, is surely home, and home sweet home or there the heart can rest.” (poetry-archive.com) I believe that home is not the place where you live but the place where you were born, where you made your first step, where you said your first word, and where you formed you personal relations with people. Of course, some people need to move away from their native home in order to appreciate it more or to understand it better but all in all, we realize that home is an irreplaceable part of human heart and soul: “…and something more you’ll find, where’er you roam, that marble floors and gilded walls can never make a home.” (poetry-archive.com)     No matter how difficult my life path may be, my native home can always give me protection, safety, and love, inner satisfaction, patience and emotional stability. For me, home is one of the core values, an environment, which reflects unity and harmony, love and care, certain moral values and unique traditions.
