Youths Socialization Free Essay

Features of the Socialization of Young People

A human is a social being, but, being born in society, he or she must go through a long process of inclusion in it in order to become a full-fledged and valuable member of society. Even though a family is considered to be the primary cradle of personal qualities, attitudes, and behavior, each person must socialize by going through various activities (Lareau 29). For this, society has created educational institutions for the younger generation – kindergartens, schools, higher educational institutions, the army (Frontline). The essence of socialization of young people is to integrate into society through the assimilation of generally accepted norms and rules, as well as the establishment of their own, interpersonal relations and relationships through vigorous activity (Lee & Porfeli 145). The main task of a person in this process is to become a part of society while remaining a while person.

Being a born in a wonderful family, my parents taught me to be tolerant, respectful, helpful towards others. When being at school, I was not surprised or felt uncomfortable if a teacher explained about sexual behavior, gender equality, race, or any other aspects of modern trends in Western European countries (Frontline). I consider my teacher of Sports as the person who impacted my personality the most. Similar to the girls from Malcom’s article, I was forced to exercise as hard as I could, and sometimes I did it through pain and disparity. However, this made me a strong person who can withstand significant physical and psychological stress. I think I absorbed the primary goals of athlete ethics from my Sports teacher (Malcom 496). I live like I am in constant competition. This makes me achieve the highest results in the majority of activities I am involved in. Also, my feelings and attitudes towards people did not change much; I still respect each person for being a human. However, I always have an idol who is better than me in something. I try to follow his/her sample and improve myself on a daily basis.
